Local favourite Ansu Kumar Bhuyan bagged double by winning both the men`s singles and doubles title in the 3rd All-Odisha Utkal Open Tennis Tournament, which concluded here at Kalinga Stadium Tennis Complex today.
Ansu beat his doubles partner Avilash Mallick in the double final convincingly. Earlier the duo captured the double title, defeating experienced opponents Santosh Mallik and Ajay Nishank in the summit clash.
Rutuparna Choudhury retained the women’s singles title, defeating Ameek Kiran Bath in the final by straight sets. D Aryan Swamy emerged under-14 boys` singles champion with an easy win over Rahul Behera in the final,
Saswat Jena and Dayal captured the 40-plus veterans` crown, while the top honour in 50-plus and 60-plus veterans` categories were claimed by B N Mohanty with partner Rabindra Senapati and J Ganja and his partner Gyana Ranjan Das respectively.
The three-day tournament was organised by Ace Tennis Club. Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb and former Police DG Sanjiv Marik handed over the trophies and cash prizes in the presence of tournament referee Jatin Batsya.
